Association of Former Intelligence Officers

Our mission is to build a public constituency for a sound, healthy and capable U.S. intelligence system. Our focus on education fosters an understanding of the important role of intelligence in National Security and nurtures interest by students in careers in the many fields used by U.S. Intelligence Agencies. This includes the role of supporting intelligence activities in U.S. policy, diplomacy, strategy, security and defense.

In addition, AFIO focuses on understanding the critical need for effective counterintelligence and security against foreign, political, technological or economic espionage, as well as covert, clandestine and overt counter-terrorist or criminal operations threatening US security, the national infrastructure or corporate and individual safety.
AFIO’s mission has special significance in today’s international diplomatic and business environments.

Espionage Research Institute

The Espionage Research Institute is dedicated to collecting and promulgating information on hostile espionage activity. That is done through the process of accepting, screening and editing reports of hostile activity as they are received from ERI Associates and its Advisors.

The motto of ERI is: “The Biggest Mistake That We Can Make Would Be To Miss The Changes”.

High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA)

Designed to encourage, promote, aid and affect the voluntary interchange of data, information, experience, ideas and knowledge about methods, processes and techniques relating to investigations and security in advanced technologies among its membership.

Information Systems Security Association (ISSA)

ISSA is a non profit, international organization of Information Security professionals and practitioners. It provides educational forums, publications and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill and professional growth of its members.

InfraGard

InfraGard is an information sharing and analysis effort serving the interests and combining the knowledge base of a wide range of members. At its most basic level, InfraGard is a partnership between the FBI and the private sector.

The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP)

OWASP is a worldwide free and open community focused on improving the security of application software. Their mission is to make application security visible, so that people and organizations can make informed decisions about true application security risks.
